Tachoblog’s View From The Cab – 14.10.11
Buckle up then, it’s time for View From The Cab and a look through the Tachoblog Tribe’s windscreens.
If you’re reading this, are a truck driver and would like to join in with View From The Cab then please do.
All you have to do is is email your Views to vftc@tachoblog.com or send a tweet starting #vftc to @tachoblog, or post them on Tachoblog’s Facebook Wall. Please remember include a line or two of text that says, if nothing else, where the picture was taken.
This week’s View From The Cab starts with Surfingtrucker who is ‘at our terminal in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for scheduled maintenance. This is a view of the pumpkin graveyard’.
Now click below for the rest of View From The Cab…
Next up it’s a welcome return to Darkstaff (he takes some great pictures of other stuff too, have a look at Darkstaff’s Posterous) who says, ‘long time out, but I’m back! Here’s a view from Stuart, Iowa. A beautiful October day, rolling west on interstate 80. Hoping all that cold wet stuff stays off my path’…
…His next View is of ‘a grand morning rolling past the TA truck stop, no wait, sorry, have to be politically correct, Travel Center, in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. Plus some wind turbine generators’…
…And finally, ‘these are the Red Rocks in the area of Echo, Utah. The early morning sun makes them so pretty’.
Now we ‘hop’ to New Zealand for a road and bridge report from Vic H. Vic says, ‘here in NZ the State Highways are not always constructed to the same standards as in some other countries, these photos were taken on a trip this week from Napier in the North Island to Waipara in the South Island. Firstly a couple of one-lane bridges on State Highway 50, between Napier and Wellington’…
…’One-lane bridges are gradually disappearing, but it will be a few years yet before they have all gone from the main highways’…
…’This one is on State Highway 1, a bit north of Christchurch’…
…’Not far from this railway crossing, protected only by flashing lights’.
To Canada now where we join Al Goodhall who brings us this View of ‘another awesome weekend of autumn colour in Ontario between Sudbury and the Soo’…
…Here he is ‘squeezed into the dock in Melville, Saskatchewan. My view as I block half the access road’…
…’Beautiful light as the fog burned off this morning. Leaving Melville. 175K ne of Regina’…
…And his last View From The Cab is of the ‘Qu’appelle river valley. North of Whitewood, Saskatchewan. 400 km W of Winnipeg’.
Finally for this week we catch up with Reaperracing who is also enjoying the Canadian Autumn this View is of ‘some nice fall colors in Fairview, Ontario – the area I grew up’.
Tachoblog would like to thank the Tachoblog Tribe for sending in their pictures for View From The Cab – without them this would be a very dull (and blank!) post.
We’ll see you all again next week.
