This week’s View From The Cab (our regular look at the world through the Tachoblog Tribe’s windscreens) is a day early – makes a change for Tachoblog not to be late!

We’re off to America in a moment, but we start View From The Cab in Canada where we join Al Goodhall on ‘a frosty Sunday morning in White River. -2°C out there this morning.’  For those of you (like Tachoblog!) that don’t know where White River is, Al has kindly explained that it is ‘approx 300 km north of Saulte Ste Marie, Ontario& 425 km E of Thunder Bay’…

…His second and final view is of ‘some awesome color around Sault Ste Marie, Ontario this past weekend’.

Now to America where RandyNose says it ‘seems that Playing Soccer with a Basketball was one way to take a break from their day of driving for some drivers at the Flying J in Corfu, New York’…

…’And, if you don’t know where you’re going, there’s sure to be a sign to tell you what road it is that you want, when you’re in Batavia, New York’.

Finally we head south and catch up with Amishtrucker who was ‘running on I10 near Weimer, Texas. I suppose the symbol for a McDonalds is universal?!’ – and yes, that sign most certainly is universal…

…’This is on Dairy Ashford Street in Houston, towards the west side of the city. Those palm trees on the right, I think that is in a nursery.  Beautiful weather in Texas these days, but still dry and fire danger very high’…

…’Passing a load of hay on US 71 somewhere near Smithville Texas. This stuff is scarce this year and a lot is being shipped in’…

…’A scene along US 71 near Bastrop from the Bastrop fire. I think there was a little building or something that burned and is now cleaned up in that hot spot there. Sad sights to see so many houses burned. Couldn’t get a good picture of one while I was driving but you can imagine.

A new fire broke out 2 days ago just north of where the Bastrop fire was. But they are getting it contained. Last I heard it was over a thousand acres already. But as you can see in this picture, this part of Texas is in extreme danger from fire because it is so dry and because it has so much fuel (trees)’.
