Depsite that fact that Tachoblog’s been spoiling you with our View From The Cab specials this week with  Edibledawg Tales Parts One and Two, we’re back now with more normal View From The Cab.

Once again thanks to the Tachoblog Tribe, we can let you see a driver’s eye view of the world, so settle back and join us as we tour the globe once again.

We begin in Canada with hnldriver who is ‘waiting to be loaded @ BFI in Kelowna, British Columbia’.

Meanwhile Darkstaff was ‘entering the great state of Indiana’…

Now click below for more from Darkstaff and the rest of the Tachoblog Tribe’s Views for this week…

…Now Darkstaff’s coming into eastern Indiana where there’s  snow and ice…’and lots of wind’…

Darkstaff221 411x320

…No snow and ice for him here though as he’s ‘driving south on PA309 on the south side of Blue Mountain looking at the Lehigh Valley’…

Darkstaff315 427x310

…Lastly we find him in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania which he describes as a ‘bleak little town’.  Tachoblog doesn’t know if Tamaqua is really bleak, or not, we just really like this View – must be the black and white!

But more snow now as we nip back to Canada to join Al_Goodhall in Winnipeg.  This was his View as he ‘pulled out from the first drop today- a ‘snow dump’ zone -  one of several. Spring should be fun’…

…And another View of the snow dump zone.

Oddly enough as it’s late summer in New Zealand, Vic H hasn’t reported snow.  This week he ‘was  heading south down State Highway 1 I thought it was time I took a photo of the gumboot at the entrance to Taihape. For you Poms [does he mean us wonders Tachoblog!], a gumboot is what you call a “Wellie”. Taihape is known as “Gumboot Town”, for reasons that hark back to a Hilarious song about gumboots written and sung by a comedian called John Clarke (aka Fred Dagg) whose character supposedly came from Taihape. The residents of Taihape made a big thing of this and they have an annual Gumboot Throwing Competition in the main street. Taihape is pronounced approximately Tie-Happy, by the way’…

VicH17 427x320

…’A close up of the gumboot’…

VicH27 427x320

…’A few kilometres south of Taihape is the small town of Utiku, which is shown here almost in its entirety’…

VicH37 427x320

…’Then there is the bottom of a long climb up the Mangaweka Hill’…

VicH47 427x320

…’Before coming down the other side to Mangaweka itself, where there was a DC3 making a low approach to the Mangaweka International Airport’.

However there was ‘snow this AM at the CLE yard’ where LakewoodLoon (who used to be TheNose100 remember!) was.  In case you’re wondering – and Tachoblog was – CLE is (according to LakewoodLoon) ‘Cleveland – its an airport code and used by lazy truckers!’.

Finally for this week we catch up with DriverAlliance who was at I-5 mm 88 [in, you guessed it, snow!] – if anyone can tell Tachoblog where I-5 mm 88 is we’d be grateful.  LakewoodLoon thinks that this is, ‘most likely Azela, Oregon’.  But is he right..?

And that’s all the Views for this week.  Tachoblog wants to thank the Tachoblog Tribe for sending in their Views.

Remember that you’re more than welcome to join in with VFTC if you’d like too.  All you have to do is email your Views to vftc@tachoblog.com or send a tweet starting #vftc to @tachoblog, or post them on Tachoblog’s Facebook Wall. Don’t forget to include a line or two of text that says, if nothing else, where the picture was taken.

And speaking of Facebook, have you checked out Frosty Fenders yet?  There’s not long to go in this year’s competition so if you haven’t then Tachoblog politely suggests that you hurry up and do so!
