Welcome to the first View From The Cab for 2012.  This was meant to be the last View From The Cab for 2011 but gremlins got in the way.  So join us as we look through the Tachoblog Tribe’s windscreens.

View From The Cab Logo23 427x62We start in New Zealand where Vic H has been on  ‘the main east-west road in the lower North Island which goes through the Manawatu Gorge, along the southern bank of the Manawatu River and the main railway line goes along the northern bank. The land here is very unstable and land slips happen every now and again. Last August there was a major slip as you can see from this press photo, this is not expected to be cleared until February at the earliest as there is at least 80,000 cubic metres of rock to be removed as well as repairing the road and bridges underneath’…

View From The Cab Logo23 427x62Staying in America, Darkstaff sent us a ‘shot of my favorite standard rest area in the country. This is in Prosser, Washington off of I-82.  Now, you may ask why it is my favorite. Look real close at the building across the street, towards the right. Yep. That’s a Starbucks! The only rest area I’ve found with located that close’…
