Jerry B (and the Uganda Crew) have sent in a few Views, starting with this one from Jerry himself.  He tells us that’It’s a very popular pastime here for lorry drivers to paint “witty” slogans on to the back of their vehicles. Some revere God in one form or another (or allude to how you may soon be meeting God if you don’t repent with alacrity!), others celebrate the maker of the truck or map out your financial or marital future for you in some convoluted form or other. This one, which I caught a few months back on a long road safari around the country, was seen in the remote hinterlands on the rear of an Arua, northern Uganda-destined coach, is as simple as they come. So best I take his advice!’…

…Fortunately Jerry didn’t shut up and also sent these three Views taken by Paul Cockerill while driving from Kampala, Uganda to Wau (pronounced Wow) in Southern Sudan.  They say that ‘the storm clouds gather and that incredible dark/bright interface that lasts just a few seconds and occurs only in Africa when brilliant sunshine morphs into violent downpour’…

JerryB 2

…’And a few k’s down ‘t road, and a whoopsie as some nameless pilots lands his plane on the main road, apparently without lowering the undercarriage first. Undesirable’…

JerryB 3

…’And a final shot of the flat badlands around Wau, at the height of the dry season with everything burnt. Even flatter, and more backward, than Lincolnshire!’  [Non-UK readers might have to substitue another place for Lincolnshire says Tachoblog.]
