Yes, Tachoblog knows that it’s been far, far  too many weeks since we last posted a View From The Cab, and we can say is sorry.

Luckily the Tachoblog Tribe are nowhere nearly as slack (actually we have genuine reasons for the lack of VFTC) as us and have been sending in their Views the whole time this post hasn’t been being posted – and we’re very grateful that they have.  So to get us back into the swing of things, this week’s VFTC is a bumper edition.

We start our collection with the very welcome return of the much missed TruckerDesiree.  She’s been out of action for a few months but no more.  Her View is of leaving the Covenant Drivers terminal in Chattanooga, Tennessee [isn't there a choo choo from there?] for her 1st load in 5 months.

Finally for ths week we head to New Zealand to hear from Vic H.  He’s ‘had a 4-day return trip from Auckland to Timaru, in the bottom half of the South Island. The road follows the east coast for quite a distance and this first photo was taken approaching the small town of Kaikoura, well-known for being the home of whale-watching trips, dolphin encounters and crayfish (NZ rock lobster) meals. In the Maori language, ‘kai’ means food and ‘koura’ is the word for crayfish’…

Vic H 19 427x320

…’The second photo was taken as I was descending into the town, showing the Seaward Kaikoura mountain range in the background’…

Vic H 29 427x320

…’The last photo was taken in the main street (well, the only street, really) of Kaikoura, again with the Seaward Kaikoura range in the background. The street is only a few feet above sea level and the highest mountain in this range is about 2,600m or 8,500 ft.’

Vic H 37 427x320
