Like the best part of an advent calendar, after you’ve opened today’s View From The Cab there’s only one left before Christmas!

While we remember, Tachoblog needs to tell you that next week’s VFTC will be posted a day early, ie on Thursday – in fact the week after it’ll be on a Thursday too.  Don’t worry, we’ll remind you again nearer the time.

Anyway, let’s get on with this week’s Views which include a couple from a UK truck ‘celebrity’…

We start by welcoming back Karma the Wonderdog who was delighted that ‘Now I culd luk out my window’. No that’s not a typo.  Either that’s how Karma spells look, or proof that paws and keyboard don’t always work together.  We’ll catch up with Karma’s friend TruckerDesiree in a little while.

Now we join Darkstaff and a View of the ‘sunset westbound on I-20 just outside of Tye,Texas’…

Now click below for more from Darkstaff and the rest of this week’s Views…

…He says ‘this is one reason I DO like Texas’…

Darkstaff213 427x320

… He’s titled this View ‘Welcome to New Mexico!’ for obvious reasons…

Darkstaff43 427x231

‘…That is one big stink! Feedlots in south-east New Mexico along I-10′…

Darkstaff38 427x320

…Finally from Darkstaff is this View from Palm Springs, California where he’s ‘heading west on I-10. Land of 10,000+ wind power generators. At least it seems like it’.

Randy Curioso was in altogether different weather – ‘Snowy winter morning in Austinburg, Ohio.  Wait it’s not officially winter, but you wouldn’t know it from this. Stopped here finally last night after some harrowing almost white out driving on I-86 in western New York going into Pennsylvania’.

Amishtrucker sent us this picture saying ‘I realize I have posted many photos from Ocean Drive in the past. It is one of the most beautiful drives that I do this time of the year. Look, there is no snow. I don’t know I’d it ever snows much here.

‘There is the Christmas Miracle Snow of 2004 when Corpus Christi and South Texas got a very rare snow on Christmas eve. I had to drive my family 30 miles south on Christmas morning to see the snow and let the kids play on it. This shot of Ocean Drive doesn’t show the Bay, but it is right there on the left behind the houses there’.

TruckerDesiree was in Avondale, Arizona and ‘leaving Pilot Travel to start my day’…

TruckerDesiree13 400x320

…Now she’s found out ‘Covenant Drivers has a shut down in New Mexico’…

TruckerDesiree22 400x320

…These are ‘truckers trying to get home for holidays are watching Abrams and Bettes in New Mexico’.  How did she get her cab in there Tachoblog wonders?

TheNose100 was about to pass ‘the Scales  on the Ohio / Pennsylvania (Ohio Side) ‘border’ on I-90 are getting fixed. I saw the welding trucks fixing the scale earlier this week. So this Closed sign will not be so permanent of a thing in the near future’…

TheNose100 112 427x320

…’Seems there were a few vehicles that went off the road over the past week. Slick roads on I-71 around Jeffersonville, Ohio’…

TheNose100 210 427x320

…’Sunrise At Mason, Ohio, Delivery point. It was a nice crisp 15 or so degrees. I think that’s like -4 C. I recall my Mother telling back in the late 60′s that America was going to move over to the Metric system with the rest of the world. Seems that we’ve still got our heads up where, er.. um..  we’re still stuck with the old system 40 years later’…

TheNose100 34 427x320

…’Another shot in Mason. US hose dragging tankers park next to a couple of dry vans when we’re dropping off our goods. This place (and I wish I thought to take a shot of it) has connections for Soy Oil, Vinegar, Mustard, Fructose (that’s me!) and Corn Syrup. The place smells awesome inside when they’re making up Taco Bell Hot Sauces. Not so much when they’re making those little packets of onions for hot dogs.

Also, Don’t forget to join in the fun on Facebook for our Frosty Fenders 2010 picture competition.

TheNose100 42 427x320

Talking of FrostyFenders, from Germany Rainerri1967 wished us a ‘Good Morning from Unterrot. Last night there was 20cm of new snow!! Looks like the start of a fun day’.

Now, fanfare please, we welcome none other than Biglorryblog to the Tachoblog Tribe.  Following his visit to Tachoblog Towers yesterday, the ‘Daddy’ of UK Truck Blogs found himself ‘mainly cooling my rear-end on the M25 stuck in two separate jams in Hertfordshire and Essex. The first of which was the result of the M25 being closed between Junctions 23 and 25 – and me sitting in traffic for over two hours – a mile away from the junction I wanted to get off on’…

…’There was the odd moment of light relief however – like when I found myself sitting next to this foreign-registered Mercedes Actros with a rather strange mud-flap’.

Finally for this week, Emailokc welcomes us ‘to Utah, 12 below this morning’…

emailokc13 427x255

…When it got lighter he saw this pretty sky…

emailokc22 427x255

…And sent us a Utah road shot too.

And that’s it for this week’s View From The Cab.  Tachoblog’s thanks to all the Tachoblog Tribe that sent in their Views.  Don’t forget that if you’d like to join in next time then you’ll be most welcome.  All you have to do is email your Views to or send a tweet starting #vftc to @tachoblog, or post them on Tachoblog’s Facebook Wall. Don’t forget to include a line or two of text that says, if nothing else, where the picture was taken.
