Tachoblog Says Check Your Mirrors
Tachoblog wants to remind all European readers that the second EU directive on close-proximity and wide-angle mirrors (more commonly known as blind-spot mirrors), 2007/38/EC, comes into force at 00oohrs 1 April.
In simple terms, the directive requires that all commercial vehicles over 3.5 tonnes that were first registered after 1 January 200 are fitted with compliant blind-spot mirrors or cameras.
Initially operators can self-certify their compliance using a form (availble from VOSA for UK operators). This form must then be submitted at the next annual test.
Checkyourmirror.com is a helpful website that will aid you in finding out whether your vehicle is already compliant or not.
If you like such things, you can read the entire directive…
Or, here as a webpage.
