Road Trains and Iron Ore Mining on Tachoblog
Thanks to the great etruck.com.au, Tachoblog was tipped off about this great video showing a Kenworth C510 carrying iron ore in Koolyanobbing, Western Australia.
With a Cummins QSK19 19 litre engine giving 600HP, triple side tipper trailers, a tare weight of 85 tonne, gross weight 285 tonne and around 60 metres long, this really is a monster.
And if you liked that, then check out Part Two…

I used to work here but not for BGC (the company owning the truck featured) but for another company subcontracting to BGC. I lost a mate on this road. A BGC truck tipped his third trailer into the path of my mate and killed him instantly. The conditions were bad – night, raining, gravel road turned to slop by constant traffic. I was travelling 3km behind my mate when it happened. By the time I arrived at the accident it was all over red rover. RIP Pinky.
