The Volvo International Service Training Award – Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ world championship for service and workshop personnel – has begun again. Registrations are now being accepted.
When round one of the competition kicks off in September, it is hoped that over 14,000 participants will be taking part.
The Volvo International Service Training Award is open to all aftermarket employees within the Volvo Trucks’ and Volvo Buses’ global service network, with participants forming teams of up to four people.
The aim of the competition is to help employees develop and improve their knowledge, skills and ability to work as a team.

Registrations close on 7th September, with Round One starting only a few days later.
After three questionnaire rounds and semi-finals, the competition culminates with the World Final, which will be held in June 2013, in Volvo’s birthplace and spiritual home – Gothenburg, Sweden.
Volvo International Service Training Award is a training event organised by Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses and held every other year in the form of a competition
It originally started in 1957 as a competition exclusively for Volvo technicians in Sweden, but has since rapidly grown to become an international biennial event and in 1977 the competition was re-named the Volvo International Service Training Award
Over time it has grown to become the biggest competition for aftermarket personnel in the world and today it is a truly global event with participants from all corners of the globe.
The Volvo International Service Training Award is open to all categories of personnel at Volvo authorised workshops and dealerships throughout the world.
Teams consisting of up to four people are not only tested for technical expertise within service and repair, but also on commercial issues such as warranty, spare parts and administration. Co-operation, team spirit and careful preparations are essential to be successful.
2011-11 was the biggest yet, involving over 13,700 participants from 75 different countries, but the Volvo International Service Training Award 2012-2013 has the potential to be even bigger and better.
