Korean Taco Truck In USA – But What Is It Asks Tachoblog
Now food’s a subject that Tachoblog’s interested in, and good takeaway food is a favourite when finances permit.
Bimbling about the web, we came across this picture of a Korean BBQ & Taco truck which, according to Ross Grady (who’s photo this is) is a regular feature at Wachovia 9th Streey in Durham, North Carolina.
Ross and others seem to like the food – no good for Tachoblog as we doubt they’d deliver to us – but what’s the truck? Answers from anyone most welcome.

It’s an International. One time favourite of everybody from your Korean BBQ & taco vendor to the citys police SWAT team
the headlights & grille are the giveaway – very similar across the entire range up to & including urban semis and the instantly recognizable school buses
Guess is, it is a Chevy.
Always noticed when ibn the U.S.A. how basic these panal vans are, although they have masses of room.
Being a custom pickup man, I love custom American pickups but these vans as such do not do a lot for me, especially compared with something like a Sprinter.
Sorry, never noticed the Korean bit until later but it is a very good copy of a Chevy.
It’s either a make you never see in Europe, a Daewoo before they went bust, cannot see Hyundai making this but I suppose anything is possible.
Allan,
Thanks, knew someone would know!

oh, co’mon you guys, it’s a former ice cream truck that was stolen, chopped up and turned into a Korean taco truck.
The vertical, rectangular headlight/headlamp bezels make it a General Motors P30 Step Van. Van being a shortened form of the word caravan.
Either a GMC or a Chevrolet, little to no difference except the emblems/branding.
Also note the pronounced rib on the aluminum/aluminium body above the split windshield/windscreen.
The only other possibility is perhaps the Morgan Olsen (built on an International chassis), but the distinct headlight bezels seems to rule that out.
Here in the “States” when these vehicles offer food for sale, they are many times referred to as “Roach Coaches”. Not a very appetizing moniker but it has stuck.
