Following days of inclement weather whilst the show was on, the adverse weather conditions caused a problem for the organisers.

A couple of the larger non-Isuzu commercial vehicles that were exhibited on the outside display area became stuck in the waterlogged ground.

With the knowledge that Nikki King, CEO of Isuzu Truck, is such an ambassador for the recovery sector the show organisers immediately contacted her on the Isuzu Truck stand inside Hall 3.

Lee Tansley, Isuzu’s fleet and recovery sales manager was also present on the stand and, within minutes, had arranged for local recovery company, from Walsall, to assist with the bogged-down vehicles.

According to Keith Child, marketing director at Isuzu Truck, “Both of the vehicles had to be winched out very carefully, causing minimum damage to the vehicles and the ground.

“The NEC staff had identified that important underground conduit and cable systems for the various exhibition halls were located directly beneath the vehicles.

“I felt really proud that we were able to quickly identify a local recovery company that had the right equipment and expertise to get both vehicles back on the road and, most importantly, with no damage to them or the terrain.”
