Now this really is something special. Meet Swedish truck customiser Svempa’s 1,000hp Scania T-Cab R999 ‘Red Pearl’.

Created by Sven-Erik “Svempa” Bergendahl, Red Pearl is about three metres high, weighs six tonnes and made of carbon fibre. It took some 6000 hours over two and half years to create.

That 1000hp engine has a 200 litre tank and a roar that can reach up to 150 decibels.

Almost unbelievably Svempa is 70 years old but still leads the way in truck modification. He works around 15 hours a day installing home theatres, La-Z-Boy chairs and many other luxuries into the cabs of Scania trucks the world over.

In case you’re wondering, the 39 written (in 24-carat gold sheets!) on the door of Red Pearl denotes the year Svempa was born.

At 15 Svempa started modifying cars until he eventually got his hands on his own truck. Word got out about his talents and before he knew it, his company Svempa AB was born.

Now a picture may tell 1000 words, but video is even better, so check out this clip of Red Pearl…

If that leaves you wanting more, then Tachoblog is happy to oblige…

Wouldn’t want to pay for the tyres though…
